If silence is golden
Then why shouldn’t I speak?
For I’ve never been golden
And I’ve never been meek

And if a picture is worth
One thousand a word
Why cant I then write
Of the things I have heard

Perhaps I’m too young
And I know I’m naïve
But specification
Is not what I receive

And if wild cards cant be played
And if lies can’t be told
Then specification
Grows much too old

A game of life
Or a ship to be chartered?
Turn one wrong way
And turn into a martyr

For life’s more than a game
It’s a rock and roll band
Where the devil plays base
But god has all the fans

And though rock and roll dies
The ghosts still exist
And though we don’t see them
They’re still in the mist

Out souls may be in peril
And with one twist of fate
There’s good and there’s bad
And it’s always to late

But if it’s always too late
Then the silence would entice
And so I’ll never be silent
For silence has its price

This is amazing. It realyl hit me as a REAL poem. Sometimes when I read "poems," I don't really feel like they are poems. This is a real poem, you are a real writer. Keep it up.

Wow... this is an extremely enticing poem, and it really made me think. I absolutely love your ending, "And so I'll never be silent, for silence has it's price" Those lines especially hit me, as did the stanza, "For life’s more than a game, it’s a rock and roll band, where the devil plays base, but god has all the fans" You're extremely talented, keep up the great work. :)
