the ice on the river was colder that day
it shone all the brighter for you
you smiled like the sun and it glittered and shone
i was blinded like love by those rays
the ice on the river has nothing on you
it's not nearly as cold as your heart
not as lovely or sharp or as beautifully hard
as your words and the thing that you do
the ice on the river was thin after all
i sliped and i went crashing through
you walked away slowly and watched as i drowned
didnt even try breaking my fall
