The Sinews of My Eyes
I’m looking deep inside myself
To find the gaping hole
That emptiness that’s eating me
Both body and my soul
I do not know the cause of this-
The starkness of my mind
As dry as dusty desert
Are the sinews of my eyes
I fill this hole with everything
Each object I obtain
And every fickle time I do
I find that it’s in vain
This emptiness is here to stay
However hard I try
I’ll never find what fills me up
Until the day I die
Accepting this unto my name-
Don’t bother asking “Why?”
Upon myself I’ve brought this fate
I drink the tears I cry.
