In Memory of a Leaf
I drifted to
The frozen ground
My body numb
My skin brown.
To land among
The crystal thorns
Breathing my last
Cut and torn.
Eyes probing
Giants up high
For a hidden home
Stretching towards sky.
But Why?
The wind lashed out
Gripping me tight
Pulling me off
With all its might.
A slow spider
Tiredness crept
Through my limbs
Weaving its web.
So while caressed
By soft snowflakes
With one last tug,
I broke away.
