A World Aside From Mine
I believe in a world aside from ours,
One that floats in the skies,
A land where the people live freely,
Among the birds and the butterflies.
Maybe they have wings that glisten,
Like the spun silk of a spider's web.
Maybe they have no wings at all,
And are normal people instead.
What do you think life would be like,
Up in a world so high?
I imagine it's pretty and peaceful,
Since you can always see the sun rise.
Imagine what it would be like,
To see the sky at night.
To see the stars unhindered by clouds,
Upon the fall of twilight.
Maybe they control the weather,
Up in that world so high.
Maybe they don’t do anything,
Because they simply like the sky.
One thing I haven’t determined is,
What happens when they die?
Do their names go into the words of a lullaby,
Or do they earn their wings to fly?
I believe in a world aside from ours,
And I know you may think I’m crazy,
But maybe it really does exist,
Or maybe I’m just a little bit spacey.
I believe in this world aside from ours,
But we might never see it,
I bet that before it becomes known to someone,
It disappears before their eyes.
