Farewell for Now
Many a laugh,
And many a tear,
Have we shared together,
And many more we shall have,
When you return to us.
Our confidant,
Our guide
Our shepherd,
Our friend,
How we would like to keep you pressed to our side,
But we shall let you go,
Until we meet again.
It is by God’s will you leave O’l Riley,
But His plan shall have us near again.
Your flock won’t so easily be shaken,
And as surely as the eagle will soar,
Our cross will pass once more.
So, until God’s Grace,
Returns you to us,
Take these words,
And when loneliness abounds,
Read them and know,
That you’re always in our prayers.
