Friendship
Standing there,
with no one to hold,
the emptiness overcomes you,
like paralyzing cold.
No one comes.
No one says hi.
You just stand there,
waiting for the time to go by.
Someone walks past,
you catch their eye,
you attempt a hello,
but they look away.
Standing alone,
staying quiet and invisible,
someone comes up and,
holds out a hand.
You look up,
to see the loneliness in her eyes.
Together you talk,
and stick together,
having fun and
sharing thoughts.
You walk out the door,
with a new person:
your friend.
