Power
A friendly face, A quicker pace,
The days fly bye and bye.
But when I go to stop the race,
They flit, flutter, and fly.
To stay the same is not the game,
But how I wish it so.
Alas the faces in a picture frame,
Will always come and go.
I want to play but stay away,
From loving them to dear.
For I know how the game will stay,
So now I cringe in fear.
It's a smidgen of light in the middle of the night,
That keeps me going on.
It gives me power over fright,
To face the lurking dawn.
A friendly smile to stay a while,
Pushes me through and through.
The power given to run the mile,
Without the training too.
So a friendly face and a quicker pace,
Make the days fly bye and bye.
But when I go to stop the race,
They'll flit, flutter, and fly.
