Recovery
In the hospital for a broken heart,
Just one question before surgery starts;
How do you expect to fix this mess?
Three final words, one last kiss?
Wishful thinking? Yes, I know.
I'm truly naive, does it show?
I look in the mirror, pale and weak.
Will I make a full recovery?
Doctor, doctor, it hurts so much;
My heart burns with every touch.
Leave me alone, I beg you please...
Today would be our anniversary.
Spread the word, I feel no more;
The numbness has finally taken over.
Hear ye, hear ye; my love has turned to hate...
You've come back. It's far too late.
