I Will Not Let You Rock Me To Sleep Anymore
I will not let you rock me to sleep anymore.
Your arms are spikes,
Your fingertips daggers.
I will shut my eyes against your face,
Burn your cheeks with bloody eyelashes.
You will drop me,
I will fall.
I will scream
In a dream that isn’t a dream.
You will laugh at me,
I will crawl
Back
Into your arms.
The hell I found when I was down
Is far worse than your spiked arms,
Your dagger fingertips.
I will live with myself,
I will learn to comatose.
I will hold myself with arms that are spikes,
Caress my soul with fingertips that are daggers.
I will shut my eyes against my face,
Burn my cheeks with bloody eyelashes.
I will not let me rock me to sleep anymore.
