Summer Stupor
Like a fog covering my summer,
You are the only thing I see.
I tell myself I’m mature enough
And that you aren’t too old for me.
And the nights, they have no end,
And the days, they are so sweet,
And the hours pass like minutes
From the moment that we meet.
You fill my ears with whispers,
You promise me you care,
But I’m just young and hopeful,
Wrapped up in the time we share.
And as your fog engulfs me,
I do not turn to run,
I let it sweep over my body,
And wait until you are done.
