William
It’s amazing what the child can see
In the limited world he lives in,
As he sprouts and grows without a worry.
His imagination unfettered, abound
On a ship in the clouds with a grin
Oblivious to the reality that I might see.
He will soar in the sky around
Unafraid of a broken heart or scrape on his shin
Because he knows that for him, others will worry.
And then he sleeps without a sound,
Although the light still shines on his skin;
And his dance continues with the dreams he will see.
He has no fear of not being found
Sure of himself, much to my chagrin
Because as for whom I am, I still worry.
His innocence will eventually be cut down
When he learns of this world of sin,
For one day he will come to see
That about himself he must worry.
