A Lonely Bird
Like a bird without wings...
She lives
She breathes and flies without hesitation
In her mind she has only one limitation
She hopes to make the best out of her life
She can't help but think she has come to her demise
The woman she has seen in the mirror for years is no longer there
The one she has admired is now all but thin air
The little sparkles in her hair have disappeared
And become only fantasies
She forgot what it was like to rest and sleep
When she wakes up she hopes to see more than rain and sleet
But she won't see what she wants to see
She'll see that she's young but she has aged
Life hit her hard, and it can't be denied
She has only memories of what was never there
She hears songs that she has never really heard
Tastes, what she never really tasted
Imagines what was never there
And now she touches what she never thought she'd touch
She drinks the pills one by one
One for every man that has left her...
One for every tear she has shed...
One for every death she has mourned..
And one for every time she might regret her choice...
Of ending a bird's insignificant flight...
