Ode to Loneliness
I see a young man sitting alone
On an old cedar bench.
Thinking, listening
to the dismal forest song.
Clothed in shadow
And seeking comfort from soil.
Chilled by the heat
Of the comments of those
Around him.
Suddenly, a girl sits near,
Easing closer every moment.
Praise to loneliness.
Because when you're lonely,
Perhaps company will arrive.
