What I was told
I was often told to spread my wings.
I was often told “Be bold”.
But when I asked the question “how”
I was left alone untold.
I was often told to be myself.
I was often told to be unique.
But when I asked the question “who”
I only had a peek.
I was often told to have faith.
I was often told to believe.
But when I asked the question “when”
I could not quite conceive.
I was often told to have “find a way”.
I was often told to choose.
But when I asked the question “what”
I found myself confused.
I was often told to follow my heart.
I was often told to seek.
But when I asked the question “where”
I knew they would not speak.
An answer came, and suddenly I knew
It didn’t matter who you are, but you plan to do
