Rain Dance
It was a sunny day
Or so it seemed.
We stood on the pavement.
Just you and me.
We were laughing
And smiling
And all the while
Grey clouds were
Piling.
Then a thought
crossed out minds.
But no words came.
Not this time.
"It's starting to pour.
Should we go inside?"
You answer my thought
With a sparkle in your eye.
It was then I knew you answer.
Exactly how you'd reply.
Then you take my hand
As ran falls from the sky.
And with a bow,
You ask for this dance.
I can't stop smiling.
It seems I'm entranced
And like a Terpsichore,
We move along
Moving to the beat
Of our own silent song.
Then a strange sensation
Comes over me.
I turn to the right
See a viewing party.
They're confused
And pointing.
They don't understand
Rain is not disappointing
When someone hold you hand.
So, i just smile and wave
As, I turn away.
Because I know, someday,
They'll hear the music in the rain.
And they'll want to dance
As I did today.
And they'll understand me
Because they danced in the rain.
