Inspiration Series III - Rhyme
The core, the centerpiece is steady –
Wind now around the maypole
Sweet words and phrases heady
To captivate the soul
And spin in hooks of sound
Sharp consonants that lay waiting, ready
And anchored to the giving ground.
Reel in the gasping shoal.
Captivate the crowds with turn of phrase,
Make their hearts pound,
Send them into a craze
Of love or bloodlust,
Win their trust,
And wearily gather their praise
As good illusionists must.
