Where Im From
I am from the small old
Apartment that I grew up in.
With my brother and my sister
Who I once shared a room with.
I am from the first house I lived in.
I moved there when I turned 11.
I am from a sister who I lost to a disease.
Form the parents who took care of me.
I am from my dad’s cooking
That’s even better than to die for.
I am from the
“I don’t think so’s” and “don’t talk backs”
From the stash of CDs on my dresser.
I am from the secret notes I keep in my top drawer.
From the grandpa I almost never met.
I am from the dad I never see
And the stepdad who means so much to me
I am from the people love
But I just call them family
