one such unmoving façade,
in the never-ending stillness of time.
who moves, who cares, who dares –
attacked by the storm, by the life.
who sits unmoving in the middle of the road.
smoke chokes and burns –
quenches senses and feelings,
burning out emotions, leaving
not but hollow soul.
intoxicants, slurring and dividing –
blurring boundaries,
rue the day you met them,
regret the pain they’ve caused.
then us, fighting temptation.
