Gone
Silent pain, Silent suffering
No one saw it coming.
He was the nicest kid in school,
everybody knew him.
Always smiling, always laughing;
but it was all an act.
The harsh words and taunts they threw at him
felt like tiny shards of glass,
stabbing through his heart.
They didn't understand;
and no matter what he did, he couldn't make them see
that liking guys didn't make him a monster.
Alone in the night, he knew what to do-
he couldn't fake it any longer.
Screaming silently inside
as he tied the rope tighter
he stepped off those stairs,
and then he was gone.
GONE from the peers who couldn't accept him,
GONE from the family who couldn't love him.
GONE from a world that didn't care;
gone, but not forgotten.
Silent pain, Silent suffering
No one saw it coming.
