Brown and withering…
The leaves will fall to the ground…
One by one out of sight…
One by one they will be swept off into the cold air that fills my lungs…
Chilling them to a point of suffocation…
But eventually I’ll fall against the ground in defeat…
Eventually you will find me…
Until then…
I will lie to myself…
Tell myself that I will see you last time…
See you through the blood and fog as you run to my side…
Or as you pass me up…
Its your choice…
I’ve laid myself to rest…
I’ve chosen all of this…
Maybe it will act as a release of all of the pain I’ve caused you…
Maybe it will act as a pill…
And you can lie to your self…
Lie that I’m still here…
Or lie that I was good to you…
And that you never wanted me to go…
But honestly, I wasn’t good to you…
