Fall
Summer has died
Fall has taken its place
A season as boring as a rainy day
As cold as a winter night
While children stay up alone watching scary movies,
They parents told them not to watch.
It is as yellow as the egg yokes on the ground,
And as yellow as the bright leaves that fell off the trees
Smacking the ground in the face.
Now it’s time for that day children dress up like creatures to play
Not being themselves for a day
Trick-or-Treating all night wanting to rest all day.
It is getting colder and colder as the days go by
So now the streets are silent and dead
The sun’s not shining
And no one is smiling
This makes the day as boring as it has ever been
All because the summer has died
And the fall began.
