Where the Sky's Been Cut in Branches
The world stops, and we look up-
to where the sky's been shaped by branches.
And see a blurred vision,
cut into so many squares by the screen.
We'd like to pretend that we were five again,
lying in bed, watching a jet leave its trail across the sky.
But when we look up
we realize we've spent three and a half years
waiting for the sky to clear.
And watching through a pieced together metal patchwork
of a hundred thousand little squares.
