Regrets
Never cared what came after tomorrow,
And so I lived my life quite unrestrained.
Didn’t know the future held such sorrow,
I had hoped happiness was preordained.
Maturity and age is what I lack,
Words said aloud cannot be taken back.
My hands held the weight of regrets I bore,
Like spiders and webs, the questions they spun,
Can I possibly turn around once more,
Reverse time back and undo what was done?
Words unvoiced I also never forget.
One cannot run out of things to regret.
The words unsaid kill and tear me inside,
Why did I keep myself hidden within?
The words were bugs, to the web they were tied,
Mind lingers long with thoughts left unspoken.
