Painter’s coats
All these seasons.
The colors change as the giants sleep
Soundly
Like hibernating bears.
When they get up,
I will be a goner
Unless I start running.
Faster, but I don’t feel like telling you to keep up.
Young child, you aren’t needed but you are wanted by me.
Dead batteries fill my drink bottles
And I feel
Thirsty.
The leaves fall beneath me like raindrops
They coat me and I almost drown in them
Along with the time that turns
Burns me like caustic acid.
I haven’t lived enough to be smart
But I’ve lived enough to be stupid.
