You can’t imagine
Pain, anguish, anxiety
It just never surrenders
Stinging, aching, shaking
My body can’t stop
Crying, begging, screaming
Why won’t it go away
Sitting, watching, waiting
My body is weak
Hearing, seeing, listening
My eyes watch him
Whipping, lashing, beating
I thought he loved me
Yelling, squirming, numbing
I look down at my scalded body
Breathless, speechless, painless
He finally stops
