Sounds of Sanity
White walls, no doors,
Stale air, no windows.
A light hangs from the ceiling.
Not a sound to be heard,
But the breathing from your own body.
Not a movement to in sight,
But the rise of your chest with each breath.
Eyes searching you find a clock,
Your senses multiply.
The sound of ticking,
Louder, louder.
Your breath echoes in your body,
The beat of your hear becomes a harmony
Creating a melody of sanity and insanity
Tick, tick
Eyes shut tight
All goes silent
All goes dark
Eyes open
White walls no doors
Stale air no windows
Who is to save you from your sanity?
