Shall I Compare Thee to a Springtime Morn?
Awakened
by the crisp, clean air
of a beautiful new day.
Flowers
in bloom,
and a great bear
rustling from its winter- long sleep.
And so she goes
down the street,
staring at the clouds
as they open and weep
before her.
She can see the sun
peaking from behind the clouds
as it fights to light this springtime morning
and paints the sky
with pinks and reds.
Beneath the rubber soles
of her yellow boots,
the puddles spring to life
as she surprises them with a mighty jump.
Behind her
bobs a simple red umbrella,
and as she turns to walk away,
the sun peaks down at her
from behind the clouds,
and she smiles
at the rainbow spread across the sky.
