EVERYTHING'S GOING TO BE OK
Off in the distance birds chirp. Followed by a rumble
echoing through the sky. Raindrops fall in an
unorthodox pattern. The wind rustles through leaves
of a nearby aspen, then kisses my face with the fresh
fragrance of rain. Clouds part and the sun shines
through, reflecting off my red toenails. The rain
dances of to moisten another part of town and I'm left
here captivated in this perfect moment of blissful
tranquility. All is right with the world for that one
second, then its lost back to reality. Yet I sit her stuck
in a bitter sweet dream of harmony denying the truth
while I stare at my red toenails in the damp grass. A
gentle breeze whispers in my ear, "everything’s going
to be ok."
