Plight of the Hopeful
One lesson I once learned
was the Plight of the Hopeful,
the prayer of perseverance,
the ultimatum of human character.
The lesson once learned
is that of tenacity,
moving on in the face of adversity,
against what many people
think is expected of you.
Take the steps,
the road to infinitesimal change,
that makes you a better person
in all that you ever do,
so that others may look up to you.
The lesson learned,
is to keep on working,
to be tenacious,
so to gain the respect of those
who thought you couldn’t do it.
