Conclusion
I found a receipt
crinkled in the bottom of my purse.
The restaurant’s name is not important,
only that I drove myself there
and waited in the parking lot
thirty minutes
for you to show up.
I destroyed that receipt
threw the shreds across my kitchen,
and only as I was bending to pick the pieces up
did I realize
you weren’t worth even the two minutes
it took me to collect them.
