I Am
I am from tears of anguish, cries of joy.
I am from the happiness of a father when he was a little boy.
I am from the war cries of Indians, powder in their guns.
I am from the smile of a baby as bright as the sun.
I am what I am, so don't get it wrong.
My priorities are straight and I am strong.
I am a survivor in this world so cruel.
The only way to keep surviving is by going to school.
I am what I am, so don't get it wrong.
I have to go for now, for my road is long.
I am what I am from vast seas and land.
I am what I choose to be, for my world rests in my hand.
