Kiss the Sky
He smiled and revealed how he wanted to kiss the sky,
I laughed and parted my lips to release a wistful sigh.
He stopped his laughter and said to me he was serious.
He always was imaginative so kissing the sky was only part
of the visions in his head and the folly in his heart.
I looked into his eyes and listened as he continued.
He said he longed to reach the the birds that fluttered through the air.
He touched the tip of my nose and then began the nightmare
He sat up and his eyes wandered off.
He stood up and I released his hands from mines.
I told him to cut it our but he never listened to my whines.
He shrugged me off, grabbed his coat and departed for the day.
I watched the sky from my window as I awaited his return.
I smiled at his childish ways and watched the as the sun set eastern.
I would like to think that he watched the same sun set with me.
He got his wish on that very day
There would surely be a cloud coming his way
For his very life was snatched away
