A Dream Deferred

What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it tuck away by itself
Like all the 10-year-old costumes upstairs?
Or does it hide under the present boxes
And then come alive every two years?
Does it float away with the soft music?
Or fly with the blue bird to another place
Like a lost soul?
Maybe it just sits around in the “lost and found”
Like an unknown treasure, waiting to be discovered
Or sleep in the halls peacefully covered?
