Butterfly
Looking at a butterfly,
gossamer wings beating gently,
paper thin, and yet so
trusting, because you can
destroy them in an
instant, and then they still
come to you, as though not
scared of being maimed.
Perhaps it is pride that
drives them to come near,
for if they stayed away forever,
who would admire them?
