Too Late
Thinking back
Memories of yesteryear
Darkness was never innocence
And the pearls were real
Can’t remember what it felt like
Oblivious to everything but the sun and the moon
There were no real stars
Just the ones implanted as my eyes
There was a me without you
And a me with you
It’s too late
Time goes on
Replacement
People change
Backdrops become plastered upon the face
I swear I have not changed
Find a different way to make those pearls real
Uncover a new way to make the sky feel
Like only the sun and the moon with the stars in my eyes
I’m the same girl
In a different world
And it’s too late to turn away
