Label Me Pretty
If you looked at me from the outside
You would just see a girl
A girl who laughs
A girl who smiles
A girl who forgives
But if you took a look inside
A look into what I really believe
Into what I really think
You would find a girl
Who’s gotten hurt
Who’s cried
Who’s bled
Who’s drowned for a boy that didn’t even care
You would see a girl
Whose name isn’t the coolest thing about her
Who really thinks
Who really cares
Who yearns for peace
But when you really look inside me
You would be able to see
A beating heart,
So stealthily,
Across my chest
Into my pulse
Into my soul
But if you actually look
And see
Exactly what’s inside her
You would see a girl who’s already died.
