A Simple Boy
There once was a girl who just didn’t care
About school or friends or family
She acted like nothing bothered her
Though the secrets hurt painfully
She had liked many boys in the past
So many times she had thought it was love
The truth was it was more of a distraction
To hide from what her life was
The same routine day after day
Nothing was ever changing
But then one day a boy appeared
And suddenly life was worth appreciating
He lifted her spirit with his music
Lifted her heart with just his smile
How could such a simple boy
Make everything so worthwhile?
He saved her from the girl she was
He made her happy and inspired
He changed this girl in so many ways
And he changed her for the better
Almost 3 years later and her love’s still strong
For the boy she calls her hero
She believes he is an angel
With a secret halo
This boy did a lot for this girl
And it’s been greatly appreciated
And if she could say one thing to this boy
It would be “Thank you, David”
