Final Bow
The seats are empty
And the lights are fading.
"Show's over" says the greasy boy
As he wipes down the food stand.
And I,
I stand
Folded,
"Center Stage."
The songs of faded children
Fill my ears now.
And as the lights dim for the last time,
My dreams flood me,
And wrap me in their shadow.
"Come on lady!"
I smile in spite of myself.
And as the final lights become
Swallowed into Darkness,
I take my Final Bow.
