People Can Change So Quick
People can change so quick,
But you can’t let go- like a tick.
One day you’re writing secret notes,
The next you’re wishing you had the antidote.
You wish you had never found out.
Now, when the topic comes up, he’s all you think about.
You’re scared and afraid to tell:
This secret, his problem, your hell.
You remember everything about that night.
The question, the honesty, it all felt so right.
After that night you remember calling him every chance you got.
Now, you just worry about him… a lot.
Just knowing you’d give everything for him,
You also know him getting help himself is slim.
You’re so scared and so afraid to tell:
This secret, his problem, your hell.
He made a promise to you.
You know it’s not worth it, but you want to.
Yet, knowing and thinking about it every day.
You try to convince yourself- there’s a way.
How much longer can you keep it on the low?
You could tell someone… but no.
You’re too scared and too afraid to tell:
This secret, his problem, your hell.
