The Change
All alone you change your skin
To prove that you are the
Wolf's kin.
You run into your clearing
Just as the moon is appearing.
All alone you change your skin
To prove that you are the
Wolf's kin.
The crushing in your hips
Makes you slip
The expanding of joints
Makes you growl,
Therefore, you let out a big, long howl.
All alone you change your skin
To prove that you are the wolf's kin.
Your claws come forth,
They are as sharp as steel,
And you are hungry for your first meal.
Fur comes in patches,
Like a map full of marking points.
You're hunched over,
Like a dog.
Finally the worst part is done,
Your muzzle, ears, and tail come out as one.
You let out a howl that says, “It is finished!"
All alone you change your skin
To prove that you are the wolf's kin.
You run out into the night
And animals take a frightful flight.
You kill and you eat,
Like every animal is meat.
All alone you change your skin
To prove that you are the wolf's kin.
You come across a camp
Where every tent has a lamp.
People are awake, but all are quiet,
So you decide to move on.
By morning, the next day,
You change back to the norm
And head back to your college dorm.
All alone you change your skin
To prove that you are the wolf's kin.
