The First Kiss
A silent chill ran down my spine,
Touching every part of my body
Individually moving through me like a wave over sand.
Course and strong,
Violent almost.
His hands clutching me against him tightly,
Almost as if he was afraid if he stopped kissing me
He would lose me forever.
That I wouldn’t be in his arms,
That I would be some dream of his,
And I would never have been real to him.
We shivered not because of the cold,
But because of the pure raw intensity of the moment.
The single realization of what love was.
