Tug-a-war
When I’m with you my heart beats just a little faster
And my glances your way turn into a stare
And that look you give I just can't master
The way I feel now is just so rare
And when you walk in a room I can't help but think "look my way"
And when you do my heart flutters
And hi is all you have to say
To start the mutters
And we see each other from time to time
And you dazzle me again
And you make me want to rhyme
And I try to capture every feeling with my pen
And my feelings for you are irrational
But I’m a teen and I can’t help this
And I refuse to be rational
Because if everyone left it would be you I would miss
But you frustrate me
You keep your distance
How come it's me you refuse to see?
Over my heart you prance
I feel like we are playing tug-a-war
And I keep trying to pull you to my side
It’s starting to be a bore
And you won’t let me sit with you on the ride
You push and pull just to keep us ropes length apart
I'm tired of this game I want to give up and lose
This isn’t smart
One of us will have to choose
To give up or keep playing
One way or another
Neither one is saying
Please don’t give up dear sir
