The Cost of Happiness
Life is so hypocritical,
Winner’s own stereotypical eyes,
Yet it’s the truly unique,
Who surely have to die.
A fine line from hatred,
Even a thicker line from love,
Death doesn’t end with heaven,
Everything crumbles to dust.
What’s good in this world,
When everything is lost?
What’s the use of getting,
When losing is the cost?
Go to jail for a D.U.I.,
Everyone knows your name,
Save a life, or die a martyr,
Get three seconds of fame.
Why is it the real heroes,
Are recognized so small,
And when us little people die,
No one notices at all.
What’s good in this world,
When everything is lost.
What’s the use of getting,
When losing is the cost.
We are nothing in this world,
Our existence is so small,
Pluck one from the crowd,
Barely anyone notices at all.
Give your trust to another,
When its gone its all your fault.
Wear your heart on your sleeve,
They’ll choke it down with some salt.
What’s good in this world,
When everything is lost.
What’s the use of getting,
When losing is the cost.
This will certify that the above work is completely original. Jaimie Rott
