I am From
I am from five sisters and four brothers
whose lifestyle I am predicted to follow
I am from extreme poverty
barely having money to pay all the bills
I am from a family where "I love you" doesn't exist
words don't mean anything, they're just words
I am from hurtful phrases and no trust
no clue who to tell my problems to
I am from very few friends and little trust
no bestfriends and no hanging out
I am from many tears and no shoulder to cry on
words come to mind and I write them down on paper
I am from a life of lies
and no loved ones to really trust to tell all the lies to
i am from a childhood of fight
between family and friends
I am from loved by one person
my fiancee whom I call my dearest friend
I am from smiles, hugs, laughs, and many kisses
which light my way through day by day
I am from hoping of a happy ending someday
where my thoughts can run free and a friend to tell them to
where my heart beats my lover's name with no fear of loss
where I'll smile everyday and say, "this is how it is supposed to be!"
I am from a broken heart
in hopes of living a dream which I plan to create
just my lover and I, my dearest friend, hand in hand as we walk
through life together forgetting where I am from
