Girl, 16
They call me selfish
but I'm just self conscious
scared of my reflection
tanning and dieting
to avoid their rejection
can't they see that I'm no model,
and that there is no perfection?
they aren't looking hard,
hard enough to see
what lies behind this flawless skin
the fire growing, burning through
the desperacy that lies within
they don't see a girl in pain
that fears someday she'll end up in
a haunted house that once held beauty.
