If Only I Could
If only I could feel your touch,
your smooth, light touch giving me goose bumps.
If only I could hear the laughter,
the joyful giggling that made me smile.
If only I could hear your voice one last time,
but I knew I couldn’t, never again.
If only I didn’t make you leave that night,
In the cold eerie darkness.
I would still have you here,
With me, cuddling by the warm fire.
I’m sorry that I made you go, I would take it all back.
I would trade anything, if I could have you here tonight.
If only I could.
