Simple as the sky
It’s cynical, yet incredible.
The silhouette of the trees standing on top of the darkened night sky, proudly, knowing their presence is both daunting and powerful.
And for one moment,
One small moment the sky illuminates the blank canvas in front of you.
The song the lightning cries sits silently on the mountain tops,
Awaiting the birth of the conductor to light the chorus in the sky once more.
Fear and anxiety simmer between the trees,
As before you can take a single breath a verse begins, shaking your body with surprise and amazement.
Every note is played with terror and force,
Yet to one’s listening eyes,
It’s beautiful.
And though the words you cannot understand
The feeling is what you hear, the power pulses through your veins.
Because you are the dark and deafening thunder,
Illuminating the night sky.
