The City of Sin
The city of sinful need
Holds no place for me
For when I went there to feed
I forever starved
This city of worldly pleasures
Kept drawing me back
Keeping me searching for hidden treasures
That were not there
This city of sin
Forever taunted me
It took me to lands that I had never been
Only to abandon me like the ugly child
This city of lies
Forever controlled my reason
Telling me I could fly
Only to watch me crash to the ground
This city of slight
Kept me prisoner
It drew me to the light
That was only a mirage
The mayor of the city
Is the ultimate deceiver
Forever witty
Always holding his peace
Left to hang and die
I no longer want a place
In the city that told me I could fly
And then watched me fall flat on my face

"When we were yonger, we used to think dandelions were flowers, it's not until we grew up that we begun calling them flowers. Dandelions never changed. Our standards did."
