End Up With Goodbye
I remember way back when
We were the greatest friends
We had the strongest bond, and
I thought it’d never end
You always cheered me up
And dried all of my tears
When I was by your side
I never had to fear
But then our bond was stretched
To the point it almost broke
I sat and watch our memories
Go up in bitter smoke
But somehow we made it through
Our friendship survived the flames
Everything was fine, but then
Bigger troubles came
I tried to stick it out
And never let you down
I always had a smile so
You’d never see me frown
I ignored all of my pain
So I could see you shine
But it blew up in my face
And I think I’m done this time
You just cannot accept
There’s more to life than you
My life just doesn’t focus
On everything you do
We used to be so close
But both of us have changed
Don’t deny the truth
You know we’re not the same
We’re holding onto who we were
But those are years long gone
I don’t know if you’ve realized this
But I think that I’ve moved on
I don’t know if I like it
You’re the one I can’t replace
But I think that I have realized
I really need my space
I do not want to hurt you
But the damage has been done
Please know that I’m not happy
I don’t feel like I’ve won
Please try not to hate me
As you start to cry
I never know that our hello
Would end up with goodbye
